My Philosophy

I believe that teachers are…

People who plant the seed of knowledge into every child they come in contact with. Teachers need to promote caring, well-being, and respect for one another and ALL things. I believe that as a teacher we are one of the most influential and important people in the early lives of children. The purpose of a teacher is to give children the tools to demonstrate and express their knowledge throughout their schooling careers and beyond.

As I teacher I will…

Invent new and creative ways to teach my lessons and promote children’s interests in the subjects I teach. I will also adjust my lessons in order to accommodate to all children who are in my classroom. Children learn the most when they feel that they are in a safe and in a secure environment. I want my students to feel free to ask questions, voice their concerns, and give their opinions in my classroom. As an educator I want to be accessible to all my students, their parents, and my fellow colleagues.

All children have the capacity to…

Teach the teacher! As teachers we also need to listen and observe our students. Students also have the capacity to teach us new things. As our students give us new ideas, teachers can use these ideas to formulate lessons that can be used to further their learning process. I firmly believe that student's ideas can also initiate teachable moments for the educator!
